El meu soci a l'aventura IAMES em comenta la notícia que el Col·legi de Psicòlegs de Catalunya considerarà oficialment, a partir de demà, l'especialitat de Psicòleg-Coach. És una molt bona notícia, perquè finalment es dóna oficialitat a una certificació, la de Coach, que fins ara estava mancada de regulació.
Els requisits per ser Psicòleg-Coach són dos: ser psicòleg, i ser coach. Òbviament. I què vol dir ser psicòleg? doncs estar oficialment graduat en psicologia. I què significa ser coach? doncs estar acreditat com a tal per l'AECOP o la ICF.
O sigui, que finalment es reconeix que els estudis acreditats per una d'aquestes dues associacions internacionals donen dret al reconeixement oficial com a Coach. Tenir un títol oficial no sempre és garantia d'excel·lència professional, però està clar que el punt de partida és diferent.
Segons el Col·legi de psicòlegs, el coaching parteix de la psicologia (i d'aquí la inclusió d'aquesta especialitat) però no s'adreça necessàriament a pacients que necessitin tractament psicològic, sinó que va més enllà.
Penso que la psicologia és un bon complement del coaching -i a l'inrevés-, sempre i quan quedi clara la distinció entre els pacients (és a dir, els que necessiten tractament psicològic) i els "im-pacients" (és a dir, les persones sanes que tenen pressa per obtenir millors resultats)

My partner at IAMES has told me that the College of Psychologists of Catalonia will consider as official a new specialty: Psychologist-Coach. It is good news, because it finally gives an official certification, Coach, which lacked regulation.
There will be two requirements for becoming a Psychologist-Coach: to be a Psychologist, and to be a Coach. Obviously. And what does it mean to be a Psychologist? Just to be officially a graduate in Psychology. And what does it mean to be Coach? Just to be accredited as such by the AECOP or the ICF.
So, the College finally acknowledges that studies accredited by one of those two associations lead to official recognition as a Coach. Holding an official degree is not always a guarantee of professional excellence, but it is clear that the starting point is different.
According to the College, Coaching stems from Psychology (hence the inclusion of this field as a Psychology-related specialty) but it is not necessarily intended for patients who need Psychological treatment; it goes beyond.
I think that Psychology is a good complement of Coaching, and vice versa, as long as it is clear the distinction between patients (i.e. the ones who need psychological treatment) and "im-patients" (i.e. the healthy ones that are willing to achieve better results)
